The Senior Interface Engineer will manage and coordinate technical, operational, and contractual interfaces across multiple project packages, contractors, and disciplines. The role will ensure that interface responsibilities are clearly defined, properly tracked, and resolved without affecting project progress.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and manage interfaces between contractors, consultants, disciplines, and project packages.
Develop, maintain, and update interface registers, matrices, and tracking systems.
Coordinate interfaces among design, construction, planning, commercial, and contract teams.
Define interface responsibilities, required deliverables, deadlines, and responsible parties.
Monitor open interface issues and ensure their timely resolution.
Organize and lead interface coordination meetings with relevant stakeholders.
Review drawings, schedules, technical submissions, and work plans to identify potential interface conflicts.
Facilitate the resolution of conflicts between contractors, disciplines, and packages.
Identify interface-related risks and recommend mitigation measures.
Escalate critical interface matters that may affect cost, schedule, quality, or project delivery.
Prepare regular interface status reports for project management and the client.
Maintain proper records of decisions, agreements, and interface closeout evidence.
Support change management by assessing the impact of interface changes on other packages.
Ensure effective coordination in fast-track and complex project environments.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Civil Engineering is preferred.
Minimum of 10–12 years of relevant experience.
At least several years of direct experience in interface management or multidisciplinary project coordination.
Previous experience working within a PMC or engineering consultancy is strongly preferred.
Experience coordinating multiple contractors, disciplines, and project packages.
Strong experience maintaining interface registers and structured tracking systems.
Experience in large-scale infrastructure, construction, or multi-package development projects.
Good understanding of design, construction, planning, commercial, and contractual interfaces.
Ability to resolve conflicts and facilitate agreement between different stakeholders.
PMP certification is preferred.
Primavera P6 knowledge is an advantage.
Interface or Stakeholder Management training is an advantage.
Strong risk identification, reporting, and escalation skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively in fast-track and high-pressure project environments.
