Procurement & Sourcing:
• Source and procure mechanical materials and equipment (HVAC, piping, pumps, valves, ducting, fire-fighting systems, and other mechanical components).
• Coordinate with design and technical teams to fully understand project specifications and BOQs.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to suppliers and subcontractors.
• Analyze technical and commercial offers to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost-effective procurement solutions.
Supplier & Vendor Management:
• Identify, evaluate, and prequalify new suppliers and subcontractors for mechanical works.
• Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, delivery, and pricing.
• Resolve issues related to delays, non-compliance, or equipment defects.
Cost Control & Budgeting:
• Assist in preparing procurement budgets for mechanical scopes.
• Monitor and control material and equipment costs to ensure alignment with approved project budgets.
• Review quotations, cost breakdowns, and invoices for accuracy and compliance.
Project Coordination:
• Coordinate with PMO, project managers, site engineers, and MEP teams to ensure timely delivery of mechanical items.
• Track procurement schedules to prevent project delays.
• Attend project meetings to provide updates on procurement status and risks.
Contract Management:
• Draft and review contracts and purchase orders for mechanical suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ensure contractual compliance with company policies and project requirements.
• Follow up on payment schedules and resolve contractual disputes when necessary.
Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain accurate procurement records including purchase orders, approvals, delivery logs, and payment status.
• Provide regular procurement reports to management.
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (3 to 5 years).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement of mechanical works within construction companies.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment specifications.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Strong analytical and cost control abilities.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience in large-scale building or industrial mechanical projects.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
