Job Description
Technical Leadership & Management· Lead, manage, and develop the technical office team (shop drawings, detailing, engineering, technical submittals and coordination staff .· Establish and enforce technical standards, procedures, and best practices across all woodworks and furniture production lines.· Act as the technical authority for complex and high-value projects.2. Shop Drawings & Engineering Control· Oversee preparation, review, and approval of:o Shop drawings for wooden doors, wardrobes, kitchens, wall cladding, fixed furniture, loose furniture, and upholstery itemso Joinery details, sections, fixing methods, and interface details· Ensure drawings comply with:o Contract documents and client specificationso Approved samples and mock-upso International and local standards (fire-rated doors, hardware requirements, finishes, etc.)3. Production & Factory Coordination· Coordinate closely with:o Production Managero Factory Supervisorso Upholstery, carpentry, finishing, and assembly departments· Translate design intent into practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions.· Resolve technical conflicts between design, production, and site conditions.4. Material & Specification Control· Approve and control:o Wood types, veneers, MDF, plywood, solid woodo Upholstery materials (fabric, foam, leather, stitching details)o Finishes (lacquer, veneer, stain, HPL, metal integration)o Hardware, accessories, and ironmongery· Support procurement with accurate technical submittals and BOQs.· Take off materials and cutting list.5. Quality Assurance & Compliance· Ensure all technical outputs align with:o Approved samples and mock-upso Factory quality standardso Client and consultant requirements· Participate in mock-up reviews, factory inspections, and FATs when required.· Support QA/QC in addressing non-conformities and corrective actions.6. Project & Client Coordination· Act as a key technical interface under the project manager with:o Clientso Consultantso Main contractors· Attend technical meetings, clarify scope, and provide technical solutions.· Support project teams during installation stages for technical clarifications.7. Cost Optimization & Value Engineering· Propose value engineering solutions without compromising quality.· Optimize materials, construction methods, and production processes.· Support management in maintaining margins and reducing rework.RequirementsEducation· Bachelor’s degree in:o Architectureo Interior Designo Wood Technology (or equivalent technical background)Experience· Minimum 15 years of experience in mass production for:o Woodworks and joinery factorieso Custom-made furniture manufacturingo Wooden doors and upholstery production· Minimum 7–10 years in a managerial or senior technical role within a large-scale factory.· Proven experience with:o Hospitality and high-end residential projectso Large production volumes and complex custom detailsTechnical Skills· Expert knowledge of:o Wood manufacturing processeso Joinery systems and detailingo Upholstery construction methodso Fire-rated and acoustic door systems· Strong understanding of:o Materials, finishes, and hardwareo Factory workflows and production planningLeadership & Personal Competencies· Strong leadership and decision-making skills· High attention to detail and technical accuracy· Excellent communication and coordination abilities· Ability to manage pressure, deadlines, and multiple projects· Commercial and cost-conscious mindset· Integrity, professionalism, and accountability· Compliance with approved samples and specifications· Effective coordination with factory and project teams
