Job Description
· Manage production of timely, high quality structures design deliverables for the design team for all design projects,
· Manage and perform coordination of the structures design activities with all other disciplines (architecture, mechanical, electrical, QS),
· Perform technical design for structures design projects, including use of all relevant analysis and design software,
· Establish and build professional relationships with clients, other consultants, and contractors,
· Manage technical and creative compliance with the brief for all project structures related design resources, including sub-consultants,
· Understands, develops, and communicates to the design team, in conjunction with the Project Managers, the client project brief, scope of services, packaging of delivery, and time schedule for all projects,
· Effectively manages client expectations, in coordination with the Design Project Manager,
· Assist with preparation and implementation of the project execution plans, design management plans and project quality plans in coordination with the project managers,
· Manages the coordination, interface and interactions with internal design disciplines and teams within the Company and with 3rd parties in relation to technical, quality, and creative design of all projects,
· Responsible for managing quality performance of the Structures team,
· Responsible for allocating design team resources to projects, in conjunction with the Project Managers,
· Manage and mentor junior Structures team staff, including training, and personal development, and,
· Undertake a range of business development activities including assisting with preparation of proposals where required / attending interviews and presentations / networking events etc.
Requirements
· Minimum 10 to 15 years of work experience successfully producing design and leading complex structural design projects,
· Design consultant background,
· Strong experience managing structures design teams, and,
· Extensive Middle East experience managing / producing complex building designs.
· Excellent working knowledge of local and internationally accepted design codes and standards, industry principles and practices, and quality management systems,
· Good basic understanding of contract law - seeks advice as appropriate,
· Excellent experience of design processes and systems,
· Excellent knowledge of current design / construction technology,
· High level of critical thinking, problem solving, numeracy and Arabic and English literacy skills,
· Excellent verbal, written communication skills in Arabic and English,
· Use of diplomacy and tact in discussions with other parties essential,
· Contributes to team building and enhancing morale across the team / project,
· Promotes equality and recognises diversity in managing people. Understands local and international multi-cultural aspects of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and,
· High level of computer literacy.
