We are seeking a Senior Planning Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in infrastructure utilities projects to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, and monitoring to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery. This role requires relocation to the UAE, where you will work closely with project teams and stakeholders to maintain project efficiency and compliance.
Project Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop detailed project schedules using industry-standard tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Define and sequence project activities, milestones, and deliverables for infrastructure utilities projects.
- Ensure alignment of project schedules with client requirements, budgets, and timelines.
Progress Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track and monitor project progress against the approved schedule, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports, including S-curves, critical path analyses, and earned value management.
- Maintain accurate records of project timelines and updates for stakeholder communication.
Resource Management:
- Coordinate with project managers and engineers to allocate resources effectively, ensuring optimal utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials.
- Forecast resource requirements and address potential shortages or surpluses.
Risk and Delay Analysis:
- Identify potential project risks and schedule impacts, proposing mitigation strategies.
- Conduct delay analysis using industry-standard methodologies, including Time Impact Analysis and Window Analysis.
- Support claims and disputes by providing detailed schedule analyses and documentation.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure schedule feasibility and adherence.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to address planning-related issues and ensure smooth project execution.
- Act as a key point of contact for scheduling and planning queries from stakeholders.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure that all planning activities comply with international standards and best practices, including PMBOK and project-specific requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations and guidelines relevant to infrastructure projects in the UAE.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in planning and scheduling (e.g., PSP, PMP) are highly advantageous.
Experience:
- At least 10 years of experience as a Planning Engineer, with significant involvement in infrastructure utilities projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in large-scale projects, preferably in the UAE or Gulf region.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and other planning software.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and best practices.
- Knowledge of contract frameworks such as FIDIC and delay analysis techniques.
