Job Description

Core Accounting Functions Maintain general ledger for Egypt operations in accordance with company policies and Egyptian accounting standards. Process and record daily accounting transactions with proper documentation. Prepare journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation. Reconcile accounts on regular basis (daily/weekly/monthly as appropriate). Assist with month-end closing procedures. Financial Transactions & Reporting Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for Egypt operations. Support data collection for management reporting and generate ad-hoc analyses as required. Maintain accurate cash flow records and coordinate with the Treasury Manager on funding requirements. Assist with documentation for Egyptian tax requirements. Maintain records for audit purposes and support audits as required. Operational Support Process vendor invoices and prepare payment requests. Maintain fixed asset register for Egypt facilities. Monitor and record local expenses with proper classifications. Monitor bank accounts and support cash management processes. Assist with petty cash management and reconciliation. Support local statutory requirements and filings. Customer & Supplier Account Management Track receivables and payables related to local distributors, customers & suppliers. Reconcile statements, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely collections and payments. Maintain up-to-date records of all transactions and contracts. Payroll Management Process monthly payroll for all Egypt-based employees, including bonuses, allowances, and deductions. Ensure timely disbursement of salaries and maintenance of payroll records. Coordinate with HR for staff attendance, leaves, and any salary changes. Government Compliance Calculate and remit statutory deductions such as income tax, social insurance, and any other applicable contributions. Liaise with government authorities on compliance, filing returns, and inspections. Keep updated with local labor and tax laws to ensure full compliance. System and Controls Ensure proper application of Chart of Accounts. Maintain compliance with internal control procedures. Support with local system issues. Assist in implementing standardized processes. Validate data integrity for Egypt transactions. Coordination Coordinate with Sudan and Kenya finance teams on intercompany transactions. Support Group Financial Controller with Egypt-specific information. Communicate with local authorities as needed. Interface with external parties (banks, vendors, etc.).RequirementsQualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance. Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a trading company in Egypt. Good knowledge of Egyptian tax laws, payroll processing, and statutory reporting. Proficiency in accounting software (use of ERP systems). Strong Excel skills and financial reporting abilities. Experience dealing with distributors and large transaction volumes is a plus.
