Civil engineer (design)

Design and Development: Develop detailed designs for a variety of civil engineering projects including roads, bridges, buildings, and other infrastructure. Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create blueprints and schematics. Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and codes of practice. Project Management: Manage design projects from concept through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Coordinate with other engineers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes. Prepare project reports, proposals, and presentations. Site Analysis and Feasibility Studies: Conduct site visits and assessments to gather data for project planning and design. Perform feasibility studies, including analyzing environmental impacts and material availability. Quality Assurance: Review and approve design calculations and drawings prepared by junior engineers and drafters. Ensure the quality and accuracy of design deliverables through thorough review and adherence to best practices. Regulatory Compliance: Obtain necessary permits and approvals from local, state, and federal agencies. Ensure all designs meet legal and regulatory requirements. Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams during the implementation phase. Resolve design-related issues and provide solutions to onsite challenges. Client Interaction: Liaise with clients to understand their needs and provide regular updates on project progress. Address client concerns and incorporate their feedback into design modifications. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in civil engineering design. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and other design tools. Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, standards, and regulations. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong project management abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
